Lok Sabha Revokes 4 Congress Members’ Suspension

New Delhi, 1st August. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla revoked the suspension of four Congress members on Monday, after party leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that the opposition’s intention was not to hurt the chair.

Last Monday, Congress members were suspended for the rest of the session for protesting and carrying placards inside the House.

The suspensions of Manickam Tagore, Ramya Haridas, T N Prathapan, and S Jothimani were lifted after Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi moved and the House approved a motion to that effect.

Following the revoking of the suspension, Congress member Manish Tewari initiated a discussion on price rises in the House.
