PM Narendra Modi to Inaugurate Kushinagar Airport on October 20

New Delhi, 18th Oct. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the international airport in Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh on October 20. This will be India’s 29th international airport. A delegation of 125 people including the President of Sri Lanka will first arrive at the airport, which will be welcomed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also be present at the international airport led by Modi. Several dignitaries including Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and ambassadors of around 15 countries will attend the ceremony.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Mahaparinirvana site of Gautam Buddha after inaugurating the airport. Where he will also inaugurate an international Buddhist conference. After this, he will go to Barwa Farm, where he will address more than one lakh people.

After the commencement of the international airport of Kushinagar, it will be easy for the people of Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Deoria and Bihar provinces to travel abroad and to any state in India. This will save time and above all, people will also get a medium of employment.

Inauguration of the Kushinagar Airport will facilitate the pilgrims from across different parts of the world by providing seamless connectivity to various Buddhist sites in the region. Direct aviation connectivity with South Asian countries will make it easier for tourists arriving from Sri Lanka, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Singaporeetc to reach Kushinagar and experience the rich heritage of the region. Tourism inflow is expected to rise by upto 20% with inauguration of the flight.
