New Delhi, 28th March: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held a telephonic conversation with Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, to discuss the evolving situation in West Asia.

During the interaction, Modi reiterated India’s strong condemnation of attacks on regional energy infrastructure, highlighting the need to safeguard critical supply chains amid escalating tensions.

Both leaders agreed on the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation and maintaining secure and uninterrupted shipping routes, crucial for global trade and energy flows.

The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to the Saudi leadership for its continued support towards the welfare of the Indian community residing in the Kingdom.

Sharing details of the conversation on X, Modi said the discussions focused on stability in the region and the shared priority of protecting maritime security.

The call comes at a time when geopolitical tensions in West Asia have raised concerns over energy supplies and global economic stability, with India closely monitoring developments due to its dependence on the region for oil imports.
