Indore, 18th March: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the recent fire mishap in Indore and announced ex-gratia assistance for the affected families.
Conveying his condolences, the Prime Minister said he was deeply pained by the tragedy and extended his sympathies to those who lost their loved ones. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident.
In a post on X, Modi said, “Deeply pained by the loss of lives in a fire mishap in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
He further announced financial assistance from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). An ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh will be provided to the next of kin of each deceased, while the injured will receive ₹50,000.
The announcement comes in the wake of a devastating fire in Indore that claimed multiple lives and left several others injured, prompting swift response and relief measures from authorities.
The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting affected families during this difficult time.
