New Delhi, 9th March: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said India is steadily moving towards an innovation-driven economy and emphasised the need to link education with emerging technologies and real-world economic demands.

Addressing the fourth post-Budget webinar on the theme “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas – Fulfilling Aspirations of People”, the Prime Minister said sectors such as education, health, tourism, sports, skill development and culture play a key role in achieving inclusive national progress.

“Fulfilling public aspirations is not just a subject; it is the core objective of this budget and the resolution of this government,” Modi said.

Highlighting the government’s vision for healthcare, the Prime Minister said India is working towards a model of preventive and holistic health.

He noted that the country’s health infrastructure has expanded rapidly in recent years, with medical colleges opening in hundreds of districts and healthcare services reaching villages through Ayushman Bharat and Arogya Mandirs.

Modi also highlighted the growing global popularity of Yoga and Ayurveda, stating that these traditional practices are gaining recognition across the world.

Referring to digital transformation in healthcare, the Prime Minister pointed to the success of telemedicine services in reaching remote areas and called for greater awareness and easier access to such services.

Discussing education reforms, Modi said the country must accelerate efforts to connect academic systems with employment opportunities and emerging industries.

“We must further accelerate the process of linking our education system with the real-world economy,” he said, emphasising the importance of fields such as artificial intelligence, automation, the digital economy and design-driven manufacturing.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the potential of the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector and urged academic institutions to transform their campuses into hubs of research and industry collaboration.

“India is moving towards an innovation-driven economy,” Modi said.

He also stressed the importance of ensuring equal opportunities for women in emerging technologies.

“As we prepare for futuristic technologies today, it is crucial that no daughter is held back due to a lack of opportunities,” he said.

Turning to sports, the Prime Minister said a healthy and disciplined youth population forms the backbone of national strength.

He noted that initiatives such as Khelo India have revitalised the country’s sports ecosystem and that sports infrastructure is being strengthened across the nation.

Modi also highlighted the role of tourism and culture in generating employment and boosting economic growth, urging stakeholders to develop new tourist destinations while promoting sustainable practices and community participation.

Concluding his address, the Prime Minister called for stronger collaboration between institutions, industry and academia to accelerate national development.

“With such efforts, the foundation of a developed India will be further strengthened,” he said.
