New Delhi, 4th Feb: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla extended his warm greetings to citizens across the country on Holi, describing the festival as a vibrant celebration of colours, enthusiasm and mutual harmony.
In his message, Birla said Holi represents the rich cultural traditions of India and reinforces the values of unity and brotherhood among people.
“Holi reminds us that no matter how many challenges life may bring, the colours of love, faith, and positivity can dispel every darkness,” he said.
Highlighting the social significance of the festival, he noted that applying colours to one another symbolises equality and togetherness.
“When we apply colours to one another, we break down the walls of discrimination and convey a message of equality and unity. This is the greatest strength of our nation,” Birla said.
Emphasising India’s diversity, the Lok Sabha Speaker said that celebrations like Holi bind the country in a thread of unity and brotherhood.
He also urged citizens to share the joy of the festival with those who may be alone or in need and to fill society with the colours of love, peace and harmony.
