New Delhi, 28th Feb: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday reaffirmed India’s commitment to leveraging science and technology for national development and global good, marking National Science Day with a tribute to Nobel laureate C. V. Raman.

In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister said the day celebrates the spirit of research, innovation and scientific curiosity that propels the nation forward. He noted that National Science Day commemorates the groundbreaking discovery of the Raman Effect, which placed Indian research firmly on the global map.

Calling the occasion a reminder of India’s scientific legacy and future aspirations, the Prime Minister reiterated the government’s resolve to empower youth, strengthen research ecosystems and expand the role of science and technology in addressing national and global challenges.

National Science Day is observed every year on February 28 to honour the discovery of the Raman Effect, a milestone achievement that earned Sir C V Raman the Nobel Prize in Physics and marked a defining moment in India’s scientific history.
