New Delhi, 27th Feb: Om Birla on Friday said Indian youth are at the forefront of addressing global challenges and are set to steer the country into a transformative era of growth and innovation.

Addressing the convocation ceremony of Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya in Indore, the Lok Sabha Speaker described the present phase as pivotal in shaping India’s future. He noted that students equipped with innovation, research skills and critical thinking are well positioned to guide the nation toward new milestones.

Birla urged graduating students to dedicate themselves to nation building and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat with renewed confidence and determination. He emphasised that knowledge, practical training, technological mastery and innovation are essential pillars for progress.

Highlighting India’s demographic strength, he said many countries view India’s young population with optimism. While youth populations are declining globally, India’s energetic and skilled youth represent immense opportunity, he added.

The Speaker lauded the role of Indian youth in advancing startups, research and innovation. He said their initiatives are already addressing both national and international challenges, reflecting confidence in India’s global leadership potential.

Birla also praised the university for fostering leadership and encouraging solutions to global issues through technology and innovation. He underlined the importance of preserving cultural values while preparing future generations for modern challenges.

Referring to Indore’s historical and cultural contributions, Birla said the city and Madhya Pradesh have consistently contributed to nation building. Despite centuries of foreign rule, he noted, India’s spiritual and cultural foundations have remained intact.

Members of Parliament and state leaders were present at the ceremony.
