New Delhi, 25th Feb: The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, on Wednesday graced the state-level launch of ‘Golden Era of Maharashtra through Unity and Trust’, organised by the Brahma Kumaris at Vishwa Shanti Sarovar in Nagpur.

Addressing the gathering, the President said Maharashtra has consistently set benchmarks in social, economic, cultural and spiritual development. She recalled the contributions of iconic leaders such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Maharishi Dhondo Karve, Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj, Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Gopal Krishna Gokhale, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar and Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, whose ideals strengthened the nation.

Call for Holistic Development
The President noted that Maharashtra continues to strengthen India’s development journey through industry, agriculture, entrepreneurship, innovation and higher education. She emphasised the need to combine historical inspiration with modern technology, skill development and innovation to achieve holistic growth.

She expressed confidence that the ‘Golden Era of Maharashtra through Unity and Trust’ initiative would inspire people to develop inner strength, leadership qualities and commitment to value-based development.

Unity and Trust as Foundations
Highlighting the role of spirituality in promoting ethical conduct and social responsibility, the President said unity and trust form the foundation of a strong nation. When mutual trust grows, citizens rise above personal interests to work toward collective goals.

She urged citizens to contribute to nation-building by promoting equality, eliminating discrimination and actively participating in community service. India’s development, she said, would be complete only when equal opportunities are ensured and the benefits of progress reach every section of society.

The President appreciated the efforts of the Brahma Kumaris and expressed confidence that the initiative would strengthen unity and trust across Maharashtra.
