Army Chief Flags In Bharat RanBhoomi Darshan Expedition
3,400-km Mission Honours Battlefields Across Western Front, Culminates at National War Memorial

New Delhi, 25th Feb: Chief of the Army Staff Upendra Dwivedi flagged in the Bharat RanBhoomi Darshan Expedition at the National War Memorial on Wednesday, in the presence of senior civil and defence dignitaries.
Led by the Indian Army’s Regiment of Artillery, the expedition was lauded by the Army Chief for its national significance and strategic outreach value. He said such initiatives preserve India’s rich military heritage while inspiring present and future generations to uphold the highest ideals of service.
3,400-km Journey Across Western Front
Flagged off on February 3 from Dwarka in Gujarat, the 3,400-kilometre SUV expedition traversed key battlefields and forward areas across Gujarat and Rajasthan before culminating in New Delhi.
The route covered Dwarka, Bhuj, the Rann of Kutch, Munabao, Gadra, Longewala, Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Ambala. The team travelled along border roads and desert tracks, highlighting improved connectivity and infrastructure in remote frontier regions that enhance operational readiness and civilian access.
Honouring Bravehearts, Engaging Communities
The 35-member contingent included Gunners from the Regiment of Artillery along with personnel from the Indian Navy and the Border Security Force. Throughout the journey, the team paid homage at prominent war memorials and historic battle sites along the Western Front, honouring soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice.
The expedition also engaged with Veer Naris, veterans, NCC cadets, students and residents of border areas, reinforcing the bond between the armed forces and local communities.
