New Delhi, 25th Feb: Hardeep Singh Gill and Shri Karm Singh Karma assumed charge as Members of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis with effect from February 23, 2026 (Afternoon).
Hardeep Singh Gill has been actively involved in social and organisational initiatives at district and national levels. He has contributed to community development efforts and participated in campaigns addressing drug abuse prevention, social awareness, youth empowerment and grassroots mobilisation. His work in cleanliness drives and public engagement programmes reflects his commitment to inclusive development.
Karm Singh Karma currently serves as President of the Akhil Bharatiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh, Delhi Pradesh. He has long been associated with advocacy for sanitation workers and marginalised communities. He has consistently raised issues related to occupational safety, dignity, social security, education, healthcare access and livelihood support for Safai Karamcharis.
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment extended a welcome to both Members and expressed confidence that their experience and leadership would strengthen efforts to ensure the welfare, dignity and socio-economic upliftment of Safai Karamcharis across the country.
