New Delhi, 19th Feb: The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, on Thursday hosted the Presidents of Serbia, Slovakia and Estonia at Rashtrapati Bhavan, with discussions focusing on Artificial Intelligence, digital governance, trade expansion and global cooperation.

Serbia: Strengthening Global South Partnership
Aleksandar Vučić met President Murmu and both leaders reaffirmed the historic ties between India and Serbia, recalling their shared legacy as co-founders of the Non-Aligned Movement and present-day partners in the Global South.

President Murmu highlighted Artificial Intelligence as a promising area for deeper collaboration, noting the technological capabilities of both nations. She underlined the scope to expand trade and investment in IT, manufacturing, agriculture, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, tourism and education.

The two leaders agreed that bilateral cooperation holds immense potential and committed to advancing engagement for mutual prosperity.

Slovakia: Expanding Digital and Strategic Ties
Peter Pellegrini also called on President Murmu during his visit to India.

Welcoming him, the President recalled her state visit to Slovakia last year and thanked him for the hospitality extended. She appreciated his participation in the AI Impact Summit and described it as a defining moment anchored in “People, Planet, and Progress.”

President Murmu emphasised that India’s vision of “technology for public good” aligns with Slovakia’s strengths in innovation. Both leaders noted growing momentum in cooperation across trade, defence, science and technology, and people-to-people exchanges. They agreed to deepen collaboration, particularly in digital technologies and AI.

Estonia: Digital Governance and Cyber Cooperation
Alar Karis met President Murmu during his first visit to India as President of Estonia.

President Murmu noted that India and Estonia share strong democratic values and a commitment to a rules-based global order. She acknowledged Estonia’s leadership in digital governance and AI, stating that its participation in the AI Impact Summit added substantial value.

She emphasised that both countries believe Artificial Intelligence must serve global good and highlighted the importance of cooperation in cybersecurity and responsible AI deployment.

The President also welcomed Estonia’s support for the India-EU Free Trade Agreement, stating that it would open new avenues for economic engagement.
