New Delhi, 18th Feb: Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday inaugurated the WAVES Creators’ Corner at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, highlighting the role of artificial intelligence in transforming the media and entertainment sector.
The pavilion, designed as a hands-on innovation workspace, showcases the use of AI across the AVGC-XR ecosystem—Animation, VFX, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality.
During the inauguration, the minister said the WAVES Creators’ Corner is a strategic extension of the ministry’s initiatives such as WaveX, Waves Bazaar, and the Create in India Challenges. He also interacted with entrepreneurs from the WaveX startup cohort and senior representatives of global companies including Adobe, Netflix, Sony, and Amazon.
A total of 51 AVGC-XR and media-tech startups supported by WaveX are showcasing AI-driven solutions and immersive technologies at the pavilion. Vaishnaw met several of these entrepreneurs, including winners of the Bhasha Setu and Kalaa Setu challenges.
The minister also took part in a fireside chat with Shradha Sharma of YourStory, where he spoke about AI’s impact on society and how technology is enabling talent from rural India to build world-class startups.
The pavilion features several cutting-edge AI experiences, including real-time game development, prompt-to-cinema studios, an AI-powered newsroom by AWS and BharatGen, real-time voice cloning, multilingual chat applications, 270-degree AI film screenings, face and voice re-aging technology, and marker-less motion capture systems.
Vaishnaw also praised the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies for integrating AI into creative education to prepare students for evolving industry needs.
The WAVES Creators’ Corner will host expert dialogues, filmmaker masterclasses, and technical sessions by global leaders throughout the summit.
