President Murmu Meets Officer Trainees of Three Key Civil Services

President urges young officers to uphold public trust, national interest, and technological excellence

New Delhi, 16th Feb: Officer trainees of the Indian Audit & Accounts Service, Defence Aeronautical Quality Assurance Service and Indian Trade Service called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday.

Addressing the trainees, the President said their selection into prestigious services offered them a rare opportunity to serve the nation. She reminded them that many young aspirants dream of reaching such positions, and only a few succeed. She urged them to become role models and lead by example throughout their careers.

Murmu said that when officers work with commitment for the country’s development and the well-being of citizens, India becomes stronger, more capable and more respected globally. She added that the passion they bring to their work could help shape the India of tomorrow.

Speaking to officers of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service, the President described them as custodians of public trust and guardians of financial prudence. She noted that accountability in governance improves when there is synergy between the executive and audit institutions, and said effective coordination enhances public spending outcomes. She urged them to uphold the values of the Constitution and the service.

Addressing the Indian Trade Service officers, the President said their work would contribute to attracting investments, creating jobs and strengthening India’s global trade position. She advised them to keep national interest as their guiding principle while implementing policies, addressing trade barriers and supporting agreements.

To the Defence Aeronautical Quality Assurance Service officers, she emphasised their responsibility to ensure the highest quality standards for advanced defence equipment. She said their role lies at the intersection of science, technology, engineering and national defence, and urged them to adopt innovative approaches to help transform the armed forces into a technologically advanced, combat-ready force.
