MP Govt Reshuffles Senior IAS Officers
Ashok Barnwal made Revenue Board chief; multiple secretaries, CEOs shifted

Bhopal, 14th Feb: The Madhya Pradesh government has ordered a major administrative reshuffle, transferring and assigning new responsibilities to several senior IAS officers across departments.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, Ashok Barnwal (1991 batch), currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary in the Forest Department and holding additional responsibilities in agriculture production and environment, has been appointed Chairman of the Revenue Board.
Sandeep Yadav (2000 batch), Principal Secretary in the Public Health and Medical Education Department, has been assigned the charge of Principal Secretary in the Forest Department along with additional charge of the NRI Department.
Ajay Gupta (2009 batch), Director of Farmers’ Welfare and Agriculture Development, has been posted as Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Poorv Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company in Jabalpur and designated as Secretary in the state government.
Manish Singh (2009 batch), who held multiple portfolios including Transport and Jail departments, has been appointed Commissioner, Public Relations, while retaining key transport-related responsibilities.
Abhijeet Agrawal (2010 batch), Excise Commissioner, has been posted as Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Marketing Federation in Bhopal and appointed as Secretary in the government.
Deepak Kumar Saxena (2010 batch), currently Commissioner, Public Relations, has been shifted as Excise Commissioner in Gwalior.
Umashankar Bhargava (2011 batch), Additional Secretary to the Governor, has been appointed Director, Farmers’ Welfare and Agriculture Development.
Sunil Dubey (2016 batch), CEO of Bhind Zila Panchayat, has been posted as Deputy Secretary to the Governor at Raj Bhavan.
Sanghamitra Gautam (2016 batch), Deputy Secretary in the Higher Education Department, has been appointed CEO of Alirajpur Zila Panchayat.
Nanda Bhalave Kushre (2019 batch), CEO of Agar Malwa Zila Panchayat, has been posted as Additional Project Director under the National Secondary Education Mission in Bhopal.
Kamal Solanki (2019 batch), Deputy Secretary in the School Education Department, has been appointed CEO of Raisen Zila Panchayat.
In another order, Shiv Shekhar Shukla (1994 batch), Additional Chief Secretary handling Home, Culture, and Religious Trust departments, has been given additional charge of the Jail Department.
The government also issued consequential orders relieving certain officers from additional charges following the new appointments. The reshuffle was issued in the name of the Governor and signed by Chief Secretary Anurag Jain.
