New Delhi, 14th Feb: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Saturday paid homage to the victims of the Coimbatore serial bomb blasts of February 14, 1998, describing the attacks as a dark and painful chapter in the nation’s history.

In a message on social media, he recalled that a series of explosions shook the city during a visit by senior leader L.K. Advani, leaving deep scars on countless families.

The Vice President said the atmosphere of fear, grief, and uncertainty that prevailed at the time remains etched in his memory. He also recalled his own narrow escape in one of the blasts and the desperate efforts to rescue the injured and rush the critically wounded to hospitals.

Calling those moments among the most painful periods of his life, Radhakrishnan urged the nation to reaffirm its collective resolve against terrorism.

He stressed the need to stand united against terror and to uphold peace, harmony, and national integrity.
