New Delhi, 9th Feb: Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Electronics and IT, Jitin Prasada, on Monday inaugurated the STQC Lab Automation Portal ‘SATYA’, a digital initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) aimed at modernising certification services.
The portal was launched in the presence of MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan, along with senior officials from the ministry, the Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) Directorate, and C-DAC.
Addressing the event, Prasada said governance in the digital era must focus on ease, transparency, accountability, and trust. He noted that the SATYA portal marks an important step toward citizen-centric digital governance and improved public service delivery.
The STQC Directorate is responsible for ensuring the quality, security, and reliability of electronic and IT products and services in the country. With the new portal, its services have been brought onto a single, integrated, and user-friendly digital platform for citizens, industry, startups, MSMEs, and government departments.
Officials said the platform would ensure faster service delivery, greater predictability, and increased confidence in the certification process. For startups and MSMEs, it is expected to reduce procedural burdens and help bring compliant and secure products to market more efficiently.
The initiative aligns with the Digital India programme, the principle of Minimum Government–Maximum Governance, and the government’s push for ease of doing business by digitising certification processes.
MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan said the portal represents a major step in modernising STQC services through end-to-end digital processes, enhancing transparency, efficiency, and accessibility.
Highlighting the importance of cybersecurity, data protection, and product quality, Prasada said platforms like SATYA will help build a trusted digital ecosystem and support India’s growth as a global technology and manufacturing hub. He also urged industry, startups, and government agencies to actively use the portal and provide feedback for further improvement.
