New Delhi, 9th Feb: Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Japan’s Sanae Takaichi on her landmark victory in the elections to the House of Representatives, expressing confidence that bilateral ties would grow stronger under her leadership.
In a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister said the Special Strategic and Global Partnership between India and Japan plays a vital role in enhancing global peace, stability and prosperity.
“Congratulations Sanae Takaichi on your landmark victory in the elections to the House of Representatives! Our Special Strategic and Global Partnership plays a vital role in enhancing global peace, stability and prosperity. I am confident that under your able leadership, we will continue to take the India–Japan friendship to greater heights,” he said.
India and Japan share a long-standing strategic partnership, with cooperation spanning defence, infrastructure, technology, trade and regional security. The relationship has grown steadily over the past decade, with both countries playing a key role in the Indo-Pacific region.
