Kuala Lumpur, 9th Feb: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday met leading Malaysian industry figures in Kuala Lumpur, underlining India’s growth prospects and inviting greater investments across key sectors.
During the interaction, the Prime Minister held discussions with Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik, President and Group CEO of PETRONAS; Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun, Founder of Berjaya Corporation Berhad; Dato’ Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir, Managing Director of Khazanah Nasional Berhad; and Dato Pua Khein Seng, Founder of Phison Electronics.
The Prime Minister appreciated the growing business-to-business linkages between the two countries and noted the strong interest of Malaysian firms in India’s economic expansion. He highlighted the reforms undertaken in recent years to improve ease of doing business and to create a stable, efficient and predictable policy environment.
He encouraged Malaysian companies to explore opportunities in India, particularly in infrastructure, renewable energy, digital technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence and healthcare. He also commended the convening of the 10th India–Malaysia CEO Forum in Kuala Lumpur on February 7, expressing confidence that its deliberations would help deepen bilateral trade and investment ties.
The business leaders appreciated the reforms introduced by the Government of India and expressed strong confidence in India’s growth trajectory. They conveyed their interest in expanding investments and exploring joint ventures with Indian partners as part of the vision of a developed India.
