Upgraded portal allows individual, group and institutional participation nationwide

New Delhi, 5th Feb:
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has unveiled an upgraded version of the National Youth Parliament Scheme (NYPS) web portal, named NYPS 2.0, significantly widening public participation in the Youth Parliament programme.

Under the earlier version of NYPS, participation was restricted to recognised educational institutions. With the launch of NYPS 2.0, all educational institutions, informal groups and even individual citizens across the country can now participate through Institution Participation, Group Participation and Individual Participation categories.

The Ministry said the revamped portal enables inclusive participation of citizens irrespective of gender, caste, creed, religion, race, region or place of residence, including those from rural areas, small institutions and community groups, notably in states such as Chhattisgarh.

To enhance outreach, the Ministry has written to State Governments, Union Territory Administrations, State and UT Legislatures, and educational boards such as CBSE and CISCE. Publicity videos promoting the scheme are also being broadcast periodically on Sansad TV.
