New Delhi, 1st Feb: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the renaming of Adampur Airport as Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji Airport is a fitting tribute to the timeless ideals of Sant Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji.
In a message shared on X on the occasion of Sant Ravidass Jayanti, the Prime Minister said it was a matter of immense honour and pride that the decision was taken on such an auspicious day. He noted that the move would bring joy to countless people and serve as a lasting symbol of Guru Ravidass Ji’s teachings.
“This is a fitting tribute to the timeless ideals of Shri Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji. His message of equality, compassion and service continues to motivate us all greatly,” the Prime Minister said.
Guru Ravidass Maharaj Ji is revered as a great saint and social reformer whose teachings emphasised human dignity, social equality and harmony. The renaming of the airport, the Prime Minister said, reflects the nation’s respect for these enduring values and their relevance in contemporary India.
