Republic Day: PM Modi Acknowledges Greetings from International Partners

New Delhi, January 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday thanked several world leaders who extended greetings to India on the occasion of its 77th Republic Day, highlighting India’s growing global engagement and strong diplomatic relations.

Message from Bhutan Prime Minister

Responding to a post by Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay on social media platform X, PM Modi expressed appreciation to the Bhutanese leadership and people for their warm wishes. He said the special bonds of friendship and the unique relationship between India and Bhutan would continue to deepen in the coming years.

India–France Strategic Partnership

In reply to French President Emmanuel Macron’s Republic Day message, the Prime Minister thanked him for the greetings and said he looked forward to welcoming the French leader to India soon. PM Modi added that the visit would further strengthen and diversify the India–France strategic partnership.

Ties with Cyprus

Acknowledging greetings from Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides, PM Modi described Cyprus as a close friend and trusted partner. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to enhancing the comprehensive partnership between the two countries and said he looked forward to welcoming the Cypriot President to India.

Greetings from Maldives

The Prime Minister also responded to a message from Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, thanking him for the warm Republic Day wishes. PM Modi said India would continue to work closely with the Maldives for the benefit of both nations and extended festive greetings to the Maldivian people.

Republic Day Celebrations

India celebrated its 77th Republic Day on January 26, commemorating the adoption of the Constitution and reaffirming its democratic values. Leaders from across the world sent messages of goodwill and congratulations to mark the occasion.
