New Delhi, 25th Jan: The Government of India on Sunday announced the Padma Awards 2026 on the eve of Republic Day, naming eminent personalities from across the country for one of India’s highest civilian honours.
The Padma Awards are conferred in three categories — Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri — and recognise distinguished contributions in fields such as art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil services and other areas.
Several awardees have been honoured posthumously for their lasting contributions to the nation.
