New Delhi, 19th Jan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid rich tributes to freedom fighter Parbati Giri Ji on the occasion of her birth centenary, lauding her contribution to India’s struggle against colonial rule and her lifelong commitment to social service.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister remembered her as a dedicated nationalist who played a commendable role in ending British rule in India. He said her efforts went far beyond politics and extended to community welfare and nation-building.
Modi highlighted that Parbati Giri Ji worked tirelessly in critical areas such as healthcare, women’s empowerment and cultural preservation, describing her contributions as “noteworthy and inspiring.”
The Prime Minister also referred to his remarks from last month’s Mann Ki Baat programme, where he had spoken about her life and legacy, and shared the link in his tribute post.
