New Delhi, 6th Jan: Displaced individuals from Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) have called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take decisive military action against terror infrastructure operating in the region, drawing inspiration from the recent United States operation in Venezuela.

SOS International, an organisation representing refugees from PoK, has written to the Prime Minister urging a surgical strike to dismantle terror camps and capture Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin.

In the letter, SOS International Chairman Rajiv Chuni said PoK has long served as a launchpad for terrorism, drug trafficking and arms smuggling, posing a serious threat to India’s national security. He urged the government to prioritise national security interests over international pressure, citing the US action in Venezuela as an example of firm state response against perceived threats.

Chuni further demanded that Indian forces capture Syed Salahuddin and bring him to India, saying such a move would send a strong message against cross-border terrorism.

The letter also highlighted what it described as India’s moral, legal and security imperatives to dismantle terror networks, liberate PoK and reunite the region with India. It said the current global situation provides an opportunity for the government to undertake necessary measures, including military operations, to achieve these objectives.

The appeal follows a night-time US military operation in Venezuela over the weekend, which led to the capture of President Nicolas Maduro, who has since been produced before a New York court on drug-related charges.
