New Delhi, 3rd Jan: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda held a high-level review meeting with the Health Ministers and senior officials of Rajasthan and Maharashtra to assess healthcare delivery systems and fast-track key national health programmes.

During the meeting, Nadda lauded both State governments for their efforts in advancing affordable and accessible healthcare, and stressed the need to expand the network of Jan Aushadhi Kendras and AMRIT Pharmacies to widen public access to quality medicines.

Highlighting patient safety, the Union Health Minister underlined the importance of a robust drug regulatory framework, calling for end-to-end monitoring from manufacturing to last-mile distribution. He also emphasised strengthening diagnostics, professional hospital management, and regulatory oversight of blood banks and healthcare institutions.

Reaffirming the national commitment towards TB Mukt Bharat, Nadda called for district- and block-specific strategies, enhanced screening, treatment adherence and nutritional support to eliminate tuberculosis in mission mode. He further proposed workshops for MLAs to strengthen coordination with health officers at the grassroots level.

The Health Ministers of Rajasthan and Maharashtra assured full cooperation with the Centre to strengthen implementation of health schemes and improve outcomes across priority programmes.
