New Delhi, 2nd Jan: Hindu spiritual leader Jagadguru Rambhadracharya has slammed Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan over his Indian Premier League franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) signing a Bangladeshi cricketer, amid reports of atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh.
Reacting to KKR’s acquisition of Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman for IPL 2026, Rambhadracharya told PTI Videos in Nagpur that the move was “very unfortunate” and alleged that Shah Rukh Khan’s approach on such issues has “always been that of a traitor.”
The seer also condemned the continued attacks on minority Hindus in Bangladesh and urged the Indian government to adopt a firm and aggressive stance on the issue.
He further asserted that the people and government of Bangladesh should be reminded that the country was formed with the support of Hindus, and that safeguarding minority rights must be treated as a priority.
The remarks come amid strained India–Bangladesh ties following recent incidents of violence targeting minorities in the neighbouring country.
