Mumbai, 31st Dec: A car bearing a bomb threat message on its window was found parked outside the residence of Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut in Mumbai’s Bhandup area on Wednesday afternoon, triggering an immediate security alert and a search operation by bomb detection teams.
According to police, the message written on the window of a WagonR car read, “Aaj hoga hungama 12 baje bomb blast” (There will be chaos today, bomb blast at 12). Supporters of the Rajya Sabha MP alerted the police after noticing the threatening note.
Following the alert, personnel of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) reached the spot and carried out a thorough inspection of Raut’s bungalow. Police officials said no suspicious object or explosive material was found during the search.
The parked car has been seized, and police are in the process of registering a case against an unidentified person in connection with the threat message. Further investigation is underway to trace the source of the threat.
