Ahmedabad, 29th Dec: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Sunday distributed land allotment certificates to 205 displaced families of Nava Vanjar village in Ahmedabad, calling the move a symbol of the Modi government’s unwavering commitment to public service.
Addressing the gathering, Shah said families who were earlier temporarily resettled by the previous regime and left in uncertainty have now been formally rehabilitated with land title deeds under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Home Minister also highlighted the completion of a major urban infrastructure project in Ahmedabad — Asia’s first ₹400 crore drainage pipeline laid using micro-tunnelling technology — which will benefit nearly 15 lakh residents across nine wards, including Gota, Chandlodiya, Bodakdev, Ghatlodiya, Jodhpur, Makarpura, Sarkhej, Vejalpur and Thaltej.
He said the Western Trunk Line sewer project, executed under the AMRUT scheme with support from the Gujarat government and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, was completed in a short time without disrupting traffic, as the pipes were laid entirely underground.
Calling the development initiatives an example of “politics of performance,” Shah said the work culture established by Prime Minister Modi in Gujarat — of resolving people’s problems proactively — is now being replicated nationwide.
Taking a swipe at the Opposition, Shah said repeated electoral setbacks were a result of disconnect with public aspirations. He asserted that the Modi-led government would return to power in 2029 and expressed confidence that the BJP’s development-oriented governance would continue to resonate with voters across the country.
