Dr Kuldeep Kumar Gupta Flags Off J&K Girls Kabaddi Team for Junior Nationals
Team to compete at 51st Junior National Kabaddi Championship in Kolkata

Jammu, 22nd Dec: The Jammu and Kashmir girls’ kabaddi team has been flagged off to participate in the 51st Junior National Kabaddi Championship for Girls, scheduled to be held in Kolkata from December 25 to 28, 2025.
The team was given a formal send-off at the Kabaddi Stadium in Jammu by Dr Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, General Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. The players were cleared earlier by the Sports Council’s screening committee ahead of their participation in the national event.
On the occasion, sports kits were distributed to the players by Divisional Sports Officer Sardar Iqbal Singh and Dr Kuldeep Kumar Gupta. The send-off ceremony was attended by Vikas Jandial, Co-Convenor of the BJP Sports Cell, former association office-bearers Surinder Mohan and Sangram Singh, chief coaches Ajay Gupta and Anil Sharma, international player Rakesh Sharma, along with Nisha Devi and Sikander Lal.
The selected players representing Jammu and Kashmir are Divya Chouhan (Captain), Naysa Singh, Ishika, Vaibhavi Sharma, Mehak, Tabassum, Saniya Jan, Rashi Sadhyal, Samiksha Anand, Sunaina, Ritika Bhagat, Kartika Verma, Marifa Bilal and Sonakshi Khajuria.
Nisha Devi will serve as the team coach, while Sikander Lal has been appointed as the team manager. Officials expressed confidence that the team would put up a strong performance and bring laurels to Jammu and Kashmir at the national championship.
