New Delhi, 19th Dec: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday recalled the sacrifices of freedom fighters on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day, describing it as a defining chapter in India’s national journey.

In a message shared on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said the day serves as a reminder of the indomitable spirit of those who refused to accept injustice and fought for freedom with courage and conviction. He said their sacrifices continue to inspire the nation as it works towards the all-round development of Goa.

“Goa Liberation Day reminds us of a defining chapter in our national journey. We recall the indomitable spirit of those who refused to accept injustice and fought for freedom with courage and conviction. Their sacrifices continue to inspire us as we work towards the all-round progress of Goa,” Modi said.

Goa Liberation Day is observed annually on December 19 to mark the liberation of Goa from Portuguese rule in 1961, a moment that brought the region into the Indian Union after years of struggle.
