New Delhi, 17th Dec: President of India Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday inaugurated the 1066th Jayanthi celebrations of Adi Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara Shivayogi Mahaswamiji at Malavalli in Mandya district of Karnataka, underscoring the enduring relevance of spiritual guidance in a rapidly changing world.

Addressing the gathering, the President said saints across ages have illuminated humanity with wisdom and compassion, reminding society that true greatness lies in service, sacrifice and spiritual strength, not in authority or wealth. She described Adi Jagadguru Shivayogi Mahaswamiji as a beacon of inspiration whose life and teachings continue to guide generations.

The President noted with satisfaction that under the guidance of Suttur Math, JSS Mahavidyapeetha has grown into one of India’s distinguished institutions, contributing significantly to education, healthcare, women empowerment, rural upliftment and cultural preservation, both in India and abroad.

Highlighting contemporary challenges, President Murmu said that in an era marked by uncertainty and rapid change, spiritual guidance is essential for nurturing social harmony, ethical leadership, youth empowerment and inner resilience. Linking spirituality with national progress, she said the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047 requires a balance of technology and values, innovation and environmental responsibility, economic growth and social inclusion.

“Our greatest strength lies in our youth,” the President said, adding that India’s future will be shaped not just by their skills and knowledge, but by their integrity, values and sense of purpose. She urged institutions like Suttur Math to continue inspiring young minds and nurturing responsible citizens who will build tomorrow’s India.
