New Delhi, Dec 2: A detailed criminal complaint has been submitted to the Delhi Police Cyber Cell, DCP New Delhi and the Commissioner of Delhi by Poonam Sharma, Managing Editor of Global Governance News (GGN), accusing UK-based individual Darshan Singh of serious ethical, legal and security-related violations. The complaint seeks both India–UK joint investigation and immediate legal scrutiny.
According to the written submission, Mr. Darshan Singh, a British national currently residing at London, and also maintaining a New Delhi has allegedly misused media identities, manipulated journalistic space, and maintained connections with groups involved in anti-India propaganda.
Misuse of Official Logos
The complaint states that Singh used the official logos of Samagra Bharat News and Global Governance News (GGN) without any consent or authorization. According to GGN, the circulation of these logos was done “in a manner that falsely projected his authority and association with the organisations.”
Editors claim that this deceptive use of branding misled readers and stakeholders, and may have been intended to build false credibility for Singh’s personal campaigns.
Ethical Violations and Manipulation of Editorial Space
Despite GGN’s open editorial policy allowing diverse viewpoints, the Managing Editor alleges that Darshan Singh tried to take unethical advantage of the goodwill offered to him. Senior editorial members have reportedly testified that Singh manipulated journalistic space for personal motives, actions that the organisation believes fall under criminal misconduct.
Alleged Proximity to Anti-India and Pro-Khalistani Groups
A major concern highlighted in the complaint is Singh’s alleged alignment with anti-India ecosystems operating abroad. The editorial team claims that Singh had maintained proximity with groups that promote pro-Khalistani narratives and had attempted to subtly use their platform to push agendas favourable to such groups.
Given the growing sensitivity around anti-India propaganda emanating from overseas networks, the complaint categorises this as a “serious matter impacting national integrity.”
Fraudulent Conduct From 1982 to Present
The complaint calls for a full investigation into Singh’s income sources, activities between Delhi and London, and the reasons for his relocation to the UK.
GGN alleges that Singh’s activities may be linked to a wider influence network, and unresolved questions regarding his financial and professional background from 1982 to 2025 need to be examined by competent authorities.
False Complaints Against Reputed Personalities
The complaint also refers to a recent petition reportedly filed by Singh at Parliament Street Police Station, accusing several prominent individuals, including:
Senior Journalist Kumar Rakesh
Shri Kuldip Singh Shekhawat, President, Overseas Friends of BJP UK & Director, MATV Media Group, London
Ms. Poonam Gupta, OBE, CEO, PG Paper Co., Scotland
According to the submitted letter, Singh made false and defamatory allegations against all three, distorting their honorary advisory roles to appear as ownership positions. GGN states that Singh’s actions reflect an attempt to malign respected Indian and UK-based media and business personalities, while simultaneously running a disinformation campaign using social media platforms.
Call for India–UK Joint Inquiry
Terming the matter a direct threat to journalistic credibility and national security, the complainant has requested:
A joint investigation by the Government of India and the Government of the United Kingdom
A probe into Singh’s networks, funding, and affiliations
Legal action for misuse of logos, false representation, and spreading misinformation
The letter concludes by urging authorities to take “necessary legal action” and prevent further misuse of media identities for personal or anti-India agendas.
