New Delhi, 3rd Dec: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday reiterated the Government’s commitment to ensuring dignity, access and opportunity for persons with disabilities, as India observed the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister said Divyang citizens have made significant contributions across sectors through their creativity and determination, enriching India’s overall progress. He noted that the country has taken major steps in recent years to strengthen Divyang welfare through landmark legislation, accessible infrastructure, inclusive education policies and innovations in assistive technologies.

“On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we reiterate our commitment to always ensuring dignity, access and opportunity for our Divyang sisters and brothers,” the Prime Minister posted. “They have distinguished themselves across sectors… and enriched our national progress significantly. Over the years, India has taken important steps towards Divyang Kalyan… We will continue to do more in the times to come.”
