New Delhi, 3rd Dec: President Droupadi Murmu paid floral tributes to Dr Rajendra Prasad, India’s first President, at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Wednesday to mark his birth anniversary.
The solemn ceremony honoured Dr Prasad’s enduring legacy as a freedom fighter, Constituent Assembly President, and a towering statesman whose leadership shaped independent India’s early years.
Dr Rajendra Prasad, born on December 3, 1884, played a pivotal role in the nation’s constitutional development and served as President from 1950 to 1962 — the longest tenure held by any individual in the post.
The President’s homage reflected the nation’s continued respect and remembrance of his contributions to India’s democratic and constitutional foundations.
