Secunderabad, 21st Nov: President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the second edition of Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Secunderabad on Friday. The nine-day cultural festival, organised in partnership with the Ministries of Culture, Textiles and Tourism, celebrates the vibrant heritage of Western India—Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Goa, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

Addressing the gathering, President Murmu recalled that the first edition introduced the public to the cultural legacy of Northeast India. She noted that this year’s edition offers a valuable opportunity to experience the folk traditions of the western region through handicrafts, dance, music, literature and traditional cuisine.

Highlighting the government’s efforts to strengthen cultural awareness among the youth, the President said such festivals promote mutual understanding and respect among diverse communities, while encouraging preservation of India’s heritage.

The inaugural event was attended by Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and G. Kishan Reddy, along with Governors and senior ministers from Goa, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

The Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav will remain open to visitors from November 22 to 30, between 10 AM and 8 PM. Entry is free, with both online slot booking and walk-in registration available for the public.
