Patna, 18th Nov: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter, Rohini Acharya, on Tuesday launched a fresh and fiery attack on Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Yadav, accusing him of humiliating her despite her sacrifice of donating a kidney to her father in 2022. In a strongly worded post on X, accompanied by an audio clip, Rohini challenged the RJD MP to donate his kidney to a needy patient if he wished to claim moral authority.
In her message, she said those trying to seek political mileage in Lalu Prasad’s name should first show genuine compassion. “Those who want to do something in Lalu’s name should stop showing false sympathy and instead donate their kidneys to the millions of poor patients struggling for survival. Donate your kidneys in Lalu’s name,” she wrote.
Taking on her detractors, she further said, “Those who blame the married daughter who donated her kidney to her father should come and debate with me openly. Let those calling a daughter’s donated kidney dirty donate theirs first.” She also targeted what she called “sycophantic journalists” and “trolls.”
Rohini questioned the credibility of her critics, remarking, “Those whose blood dries up at the thought of donating even a bottle of blood give sermons on donating kidneys?”
Her remarks come amid mounting internal tensions within the RJD after the party’s poor showing in the Bihar Assembly elections. Sanjay Yadav, a key aide of Tejashwi Yadav, has been under intense scrutiny from party workers and members of the Lalu family.
On November 15, following the electoral setback, Rohini left the family home, alleging mistreatment and threats. At the Patna airport, she claimed she had been “expelled” from the family by Tejashwi Yadav and his close associates Sanjay Yadav and Rameez Nemat Khan. She alleged that she was threatened with being beaten with slippers at the Lalu-Rabri residence.
Rohini said Tejashwi’s advisors wanted to behave like “Chanakya” but did not want to accept responsibility for the party’s defeat. She added that RJD workers were also questioning Sanjay Yadav’s role in the poll setback.
Her exit has shifted spotlight onto Sanjay Yadav, originally from Haryana, and Rameez Nemat Khan, who hails from Balrampur district in Uttar Pradesh and joined the RJD in 2016. Both are known to be among Tejashwi Yadav’s most trusted aides.
The escalating dispute has intensified the turmoil inside the RJD, further complicating the party’s efforts to recover from its electoral setback.
