New Delhi, 18th Nov:
The Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Phase-II has made major headway, with the latest PIB Delhi daily bulletin showing 98.54% distribution of elector-specific Enumeration Forms (EFs) across the country as of 3:00 PM on Tuesday.

The enumeration exercise, being carried out from November 4 to December 4, involves 5.33 lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and 10.41 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) working across States and Union Territories to update and verify electoral rolls.

According to the data, a total of 50.97 crore electors are currently on record. Of these, 50.25 crore EFs have already been distributed, demonstrating steady pace across regions. However, digitisation remains at 11.76%, with 5.99 crore forms processed so far.

Several States and UTs have excelled in distribution:

  • Goa, Lakshadweep, Andaman & Nicobar Islands have achieved 100% EF distribution.
  • Uttar Pradesh, with the highest number of electors, has reached 99.29% distribution, though digitisation is still low at 2.19%.
  • Rajasthan recorded 98.98% distribution and a high 33.84% digitisation rate, excluding the 193-Anta constituency where SIR was deferred.

Meanwhile, Kerala and Tamil Nadu continue progress in distribution but show moderate digitisation percentages.

The bulletin further noted that all recognised political parties have been advised to appoint more BLAs to quicken verification and digitisation, ensuring timely completion of the revision process before the December 4 cutoff.

Further updates are expected as the nationwide digitisation drive picks up pace.
