Mumbai, 13th Nov: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) announced the results of its national leadership elections today, declaring Prof. (Dr.) Raghuraj Kishore Tiwari as the new National President and Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki as the re-elected National General Secretary for the 2025–26 term.
The results were declared by Prof. (Dr.) Masadi Bapurao, Election Officer and Special Invitee Member of the ABVP National Executive Committee, from the organisation’s central office in Mumbai. Both leaders will formally assume charge during the 71st ABVP National Conference scheduled from November 28 to 30 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
Prof. Tiwari, a native of Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, currently serves as Professor of Agronomy at Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Rewa. Associated with ABVP since 1987, he has held several key positions, including Mahakaushal Provincial President and National Vice President (2006–09). A decorated academician, he has received the ICAR Best Teacher Award (2014) and the Distinguished Scientist Award (2016) from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
He has published over 125 research papers, authored three books, guided multiple research projects, and contributed to the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) in Madhya Pradesh.
Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki, who hails from Indore, completed his MBBS and is pursuing a Doctor of Medicine in Community Medicine from Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences. An active ABVP member since 2014, Dr. Solanki has led several student movements under ‘MeDeVision’, ABVP’s medical students’ initiative. He has been instrumental in addressing fee hike grievances, fighting corruption in universities, and ensuring academic justice for medical students.
He continues to run a family clinic in Indore offering affordable healthcare services to underprivileged communities.
The newly elected leadership is expected to guide ABVP’s organisational and educational initiatives as it approaches its 71st year, with the Dehradun conference focusing on student welfare, policy engagement, and national development.
