“Indian Boxing Is Rising Globally,” says Dr. Rakesh Mishra
National President of Indian Amateur Boxing Federation inaugurates 36th State-Level Junior and Sub-Junior Championship in Jabalpur.

Jabalpur, 8th Nov: The 36th State-Level Junior and Sub-Junior Men and Women Boxing Championship, organised by the Madhya Pradesh Amateur Boxing Association, commenced in a grand ceremony at Hitkarini Women’s College, Jabalpur on November 7.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Rakesh Mishra, National President of the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation, who lit the ceremonial lamp after paying tribute to Lord Hanuman.
Addressing the gathering, Advocate Varun Tankha, President of the Madhya Pradesh Amateur Boxing Association, welcomed Dr. Mishra with a floral bouquet and memento. He said, “Under Dr. Mishra’s dynamic leadership, Indian boxing has achieved global recognition. We aim to provide every possible support to our players and districts to strengthen the boxing ecosystem in Madhya Pradesh.”
In his address, Dr. Rakesh Mishra said, “Indian Boxing Federation has launched several programs like Delhi Fight Night Fiesta, Raebareli Cup, Bhagalpur Championship, Ranchi Cup, and Chennai Championship to give a new direction to Indian boxing. Our boxers are now ready to win medals at the Olympics.”
He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s continuous efforts in promoting sports, stating, “PM Modi has created a strong sporting environment in the country. With his encouragement, India is on the path to becoming a medal-winning nation.”
Dr. Mishra further announced that the Indian Boxing League would soon be launched to provide a professional platform for Indian athletes. “The days of Indian boxing are changing. Events like ‘Fight Night Fiesta’ will now be organized across the country,” he added.
The ceremony concluded with expressions of gratitude from Secretary Satyendra Sonkar and Principal Shailendra Pandey, who felicitated the guests and inaugurated the first match.
Among those present were former minister Babbu Sardar, Deepankar Banerjee, Anant Soni (Chairman, AKS University), Sudhir Richharia, Rajeev Vyas, Ajay Tiwari, Ravi Mishra, Vijay Patel, and several sports enthusiasts, social workers, and local representatives.
