Sonepat, 7th Nov: Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Friday attended the 3rd Convocation of SRM University, Delhi-NCR, Sonepat, Haryana, urging graduates to uphold values, discipline, and hard work as key pillars of success in life.

Congratulating the students, the Vice-President said their degrees symbolized not just academic excellence but also resilience and the moral foundation developed during their university years. He praised the role of teachers and mentors, calling their guidance instrumental in shaping future leaders.

Emphasizing the importance of value-based education, Shri Radhakrishnan remarked, “When character is lost, everything is lost.” He called on graduates to maintain integrity and perseverance, viewing challenges as learning experiences rather than setbacks.

Highlighting India’s growing global stature in education, the Vice-President expressed satisfaction that 54 Indian universities featured in the QS World University Rankings 2026, making India the fourth most represented nation globally.

He commended the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, describing it as a transformative roadmap envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India a global knowledge hub. The policy, he noted, brings flexibility and multidisciplinary learning, allowing students to pursue innovation and research-driven growth.

Speaking on the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision, Shri Radhakrishnan underlined the government’s inclusive approach to education, citing rising enrolment among women, SC/ST, and rural students through scholarships and outreach initiatives.

Encouraging students to remain humble and self-driven, he advised them not to compare themselves with others but to focus on consistent efforts, discipline, and gratitude towards their parents. “Hard work is the only key to success, and happiness is a state of mind,” he concluded.

The ceremony was attended by Haryana Minister for Panchayats and Development Shri Krishan Lal Panwar, SRM University Founder and Chancellor Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar, SRM University Sonepat Chancellor Dr. Ravi Pachamuthu, and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Paramjit Singh Jaswal.
