Aurangabad, 7th Nov: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday lauded the people of Bihar for their record participation in the first phase of polling on November 6, calling it a reflection of the growing confidence and trust in the double-engine government of the BJP-led NDA at the Centre and in the state.
Addressing a massive gathering in Aurangabad, PM Modi said, “People of Bihar have broken all records; this is the biggest ever polling percentage in the state since Independence. Close to 65 per cent of voting took place in the first phase. This shows that the youth, farmers and women of Bihar are coming to bless the BJP-led NDA.”
Recalling the days of Red terror under the RJD-Congress regime, the Prime Minister said Aurangabad had long suffered the horrors of Naxal violence. He credited Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership for ending the cycle of fear and restoring peace. “People used to fear coming out of their homes during the jungle raj, but after ‘Sushashan’ came to Bihar under Nitish Kumar, this marked the end of Naxal terror. After the BJP government came to power at the Centre, a major crackdown on Red terror was launched, leading to the restoration of peace in people’s lives,” he said.
Highlighting his government’s track record of fulfilling promises, PM Modi reminded the crowd of the historic decisions implemented in the last decade. “We promised construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, abrogation of Article 370, implementation of One Rank, One Pension scheme for the Armed Forces, and we ensured that all of them were executed within a certain timeframe,” he asserted.
The Prime Minister also recalled his earlier commitment made from Bihar’s soil to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack. “Didn’t our forces punish the perpetrators? Didn’t they give a fitting reply to their wicked designs?” he asked, receiving a thunderous response from the audience.
PM Modi cautioned voters against falling for the “fake promises” of the Mahagathbandhan, warning that their return to power would mean the return of “katta sarkar”.
