Patna, 1st Nov: In a scathing attack on Jan Suraaj Party leader and political strategist Prashant Kishor, Independent MP Rajesh Ranjan, popularly known as Pappu Yadav, accused him of “looting Bihar” and maintaining a “friendly understanding” with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Speaking at NDTV’s Bihar Power Play conclave in Patna alongside journalists Ankit Tyagi and Sucherita Kukreti, Yadav lashed out at Kishor, alleging that his political journey was driven by personal gain and opportunism. “A man who had to run from everywhere came to Bihar and called Nitish Kumar his foster father. Then he fled to Jagan Mohan Reddy, then Mamata Banerjee,” Yadav said.

He further alleged that Kishor’s company received unaccounted funds, questioning his claim of earning through consultancy. “The company that gave him money never showed it in their balance sheet. Then who gave him the money? Kishor raised ₹650 crore in this election and looted Bihar. I hate people who take money from the common man,” Yadav charged.

Describing Kishor as an “impersonator,” he said, “Sometimes he says he won’t become Chief Minister, sometimes he says he won’t become MLA, and then he talks about bringing change.”

Yadav also claimed that Kishor’s alleged complaint about Amit Shah threatening his candidates was misleading. “This is not intimidation; this is understanding. This is friendship,” he remarked.

In another striking comment, Pappu Yadav called Rahul Gandhi the true face of the Opposition for the upcoming Bihar elections — a remark viewed as a veiled snub to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. “Tejashwi Yadav may be the Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Minister face, but the poll plank is Rahul Gandhi’s. He is speaking about Bihar-centric issues,” Yadav said, adding that Bihar’s politics must move beyond caste-based equations.

The fiery interview ended on a lighter note when Yadav entertained the audience by singing classic Hindi and Bhojpuri songs, including “Chandan Sa Badan.”
