New Delhi, 29th Oct: Union Minister of Communications and DoNER, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, chaired the India Post Business Meet 2025–26 (Q2) in New Delhi, outlining a transformative roadmap to propel the Department of Posts from “incremental to monumental” growth in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Addressing the Heads of Circles from across the country, Scindia emphasised that India Post is set to evolve into a large-scale, technology-driven logistics and citizen-centric service organisation. He reviewed performance against the half-year targets, noting a 38% achievement with Delhi and Telangana leading performance.

The Minister stressed that the Department must “live, breathe, and sleep parcels,” setting a ₹25,000 crore revenue target from the parcel business within five years. He announced the launch of six new delivery services early next year and directed upgrades to trunk road infrastructure by March 2026, with special focus on North-Eastern connectivity.

Scindia urged all Circles to adopt Delhi and Telangana’s successful models, institutionalising monthly review meetings for all six service verticals to ensure close monitoring and timely execution. He called for peer learning, competitive benchmarking, and stronger collaboration with the private sector, targeting an 80% private contribution to business revenues within five years.

Eighteen Post Offices across seven states will be developed as Next-Generation Post Offices, setting new benchmarks in accessibility, design, and service excellence, serving as models for nationwide transformation.

Reinforcing India Post’s commitment to “Vocal for Local” and “Local to Global,” Scindia said the organisation must continue supporting artisans and local enterprises through its extensive network. He emphasised the importance of teamwork, innovation, and a performance-driven culture that keeps public trust at its core.

The meet concluded with a collective pledge to accelerate business growth, embrace technology, and strengthen India Post’s role as a leading logistics and citizen service provider in the journey towards Viksit Bharat.
