Patna, 22nd Oct: With the Bihar Assembly election campaign in full swing, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has kicked off his rallies, drawing attention not only for his political messages but also for his candid interactions.

During a rally in Gopalganj on Wednesday, Nitish Kumar created a buzz after asking Education Minister Sunil Kumar to stand up and promising solar panels for every household. “Ae khada hoiye… sab ke ghar par solar panel lagwa dijiye,” the Chief Minister quipped from the stage. The video of the exchange quickly went viral on social media, sparking widespread reactions.

Nitish Kumar had officially launched his campaign a day earlier from Muzaffarpur, where he addressed gatherings in support of NDA candidates. In another notable moment, he garlanded BJP candidate Rama Nishad on stage — an act that drew attention for breaking with traditional protocol.

As the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections draw closer, the political temperature in the state continues to rise. The NDA alliance has finalized its seat-sharing formula for the 243-member Assembly. Both Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) and the Bharatiya Janata Party will contest 101 seats each. Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will fight on 29 seats, while Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha and Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha will contest six seats each.

According to the Election Commission’s schedule announced on October 6, voting will take place in two phases — on November 6 and 11 — with results to be declared on November 14.
