Patna, 18th Oct: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), the ruling party in Jharkhand, on Saturday announced that it will contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections independently, putting up candidates in six constituencies.
JMM general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said the party will field candidates in Chakai, Dhamdaha, Katoria (ST), Manihari (ST), Jamui, and Pirpainti — all of which will go to polls in the second phase on November 11.
Elections to Bihar’s 243 assembly seats are scheduled for November 6 and 11, with the counting of votes on November 14.
Bhattacharya stated that the decision underscores JMM’s intent to expand its political presence beyond Jharkhand while continuing to champion tribal and regional issues.
