NDA allies unveil candidates as BJP releases second list and JD(U) finalises first 57 names

Patna, 15th Oct: The Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) on Wednesday announced its first list of 14 candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections, contesting 29 seats allotted to it under the NDA. Key nominees include Raju Tiwari (Govindganj), Sanjay Kumar Singh (Simri Bakhtiyarpur), Vishnu Dev Paswan (Darouli), Seemant Mrinal (Garkha), and Hulas Pandey (Brahmpur).

Meanwhile, the BJP released its second list of 12 candidates, bringing the total declared candidates to 83 out of 101 seats. Folk singer Maithili Thakur will contest from Alinagar, while former IPS officer Anand Mishra will contest from Buxar. Mishra previously led the Youth Wing of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party. The BJP had announced 71 candidates earlier.
JD(U) released its first list of 57 candidates for the elections, approved by party president and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. The list notably includes no Muslim candidates. Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM) also announced six candidates, four of whom are sitting MLAs.
The NDA finalized seat-sharing on Sunday: BJP and JD(U) will contest 101 seats each, LJP(RV) 29, while RLM and HAM will contest six seats each. The Mahagathbandhan is yet to finalise its seat distribution amid ongoing discussions.
The Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results scheduled for November 14.
