New Delhi, 14th Oct: Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan today praised the initiatives of the Ministry of Labour & Employment and the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports during a meeting at Parliament House. Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, along with Ministers of State Shobha Karandlaje and Raksha Khadse, briefed the Vice-President on key reforms and programmes.
Radhakrishnan appreciated the Ministry of Labour & Employment’s efforts to improve working conditions, enhance social security, and simplify labour laws. He commended initiatives such as the E-Shram Portal, Shram Suvidha Portal, Pradhan Mantri Vikshit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, and the National Career Service Portal for fostering inclusive growth and employment opportunities.
On youth empowerment, the Vice-President highlighted programmes like Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), National Youth Policy, Youth Hostels, National Youth Awards, and NSS. He underlined the role of youth exchange programmes in promoting cultural understanding and strengthening the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. Innovative initiatives like Youth 20 Summit, Meri Maati Mera Desh, and Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025 were also lauded.
Regarding sports development, Radhakrishnan praised schemes including Khelo India, Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS), Khelo Bharat Niti, and the One Corporate One Sport CSR model. He acknowledged Indian athletes’ performances on global stages and emphasized that hosting major international events, including the Olympics, would further boost India’s sporting ecosystem and global stature.
