PM Modi to Launch Rs 42,000 Cr Agri Schemes at IARI on Oct 11

New Delhi, 10th Oct: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in a special Krishi programme at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, on 11th October 2025 at 10:30 AM. During the event, he will interact with farmers and address the gathering on initiatives aimed at strengthening agriculture, rural infrastructure, and farmer welfare.

The Prime Minister will launch two major schemes with a combined outlay of Rs 35,440 crore. The PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana, valued at Rs 24,000 crore, seeks to enhance agricultural productivity, promote crop diversification, expand post-harvest storage, improve irrigation facilities, and facilitate access to credit across 100 districts.

Additionally, the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses, with an outlay of Rs 11,440 crore, aims to achieve self-reliance in pulses by improving productivity, expanding cultivation, strengthening the value chain, and reducing post-harvest losses. The Prime Minister will also interact with farmers engaged in pulses cultivation.

In addition to launching the schemes, PM Modi will inaugurate and dedicate projects worth over Rs 5,450 crore in agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and food processing sectors, while laying foundation stones for projects worth Rs 815 crore. Key projects include Artificial Insemination Training Centers in Bengaluru and J&K, IVF labs under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, milk powder plants, fish feed plants under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, and integrated agro-processing and cold chain infrastructure.

The foundation stone projects include integrated cold chains in Andhra Pradesh, trout fisheries in Uttarakhand, integrated aqua parks in Nagaland and Odisha, and smart fishing harbors in Puducherry.

The programme will also see the distribution of certificates to farmers certified under the National Mission for Natural Farming, MAITRI Technicians, and Primary Agriculture Cooperative Credit Societies (PACS) converted to Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSKs) and Common Service Centres (CSCs).

The event marks milestones including 50 lakh farmer memberships in 10,000 FPOs, certification of 50,000 farmers under natural farming, 38,000 MAITRIs certified, and operationalization of over 10,000 e-PACS. Several PACS have diversified operations to function as PMKSKs and CSCs, strengthening the agriculture value chain.
