Mumbai, 7th Oct: Gold prices extended their downward trend for the third consecutive day on October 6, marking a continued correction in the bullion market. In the national capital, Delhi, the price of 24-carat gold declined to ₹1,19,540 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,09,590 per 10 grams.
Despite the recent fall, gold had recorded sharp gains last week — rising by ₹3,920 for 24-carat and ₹3,600 for 22-carat gold. However, the recent dip indicates profit booking amid fluctuating global trends and a stronger rupee.
In Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata, the price of 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,09,440 per 10 grams, while 24-carat gold was priced at ₹1,19,390 per 10 grams.
Similar rates were recorded in Jaipur, Lucknow, and Chandigarh, where 24-carat gold traded at ₹1,19,540 per 10 grams and 22-carat at ₹1,09,590 per 10 grams.
In Bhopal and Ahmedabad, the retail price of 22-carat gold was ₹1,09,490 per 10 grams, while 24-carat gold was available at ₹1,19,440 per 10 grams. In Hyderabad, 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,09,440 per 10 grams and 24-carat gold at ₹1,19,390 per 10 grams.
Market experts suggest that the ongoing decline may continue in the short term as investors await cues from international economic data and dollar movements.
